Three Killed in Moscow Explosion, Including Two Police Officers

 


Russian authorities have confirmed that three people, including two police officers, lost their lives in an explosion that occurred in Moscow. The incident took place in a building within the city on Monday, sparking immediate emergency response.


According to initial reports, the explosion happened during a police operation, although details about the cause remain under investigation. Russian officials have not yet ruled out the possibility of foul play or terrorism, but are exploring multiple leads.


Eyewitnesses described a loud blast followed by heavy smoke and the arrival of security forces. Nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution, and an area lockdown was enforced to secure the site.


The third person killed was reportedly a civilian who may have been inside the building at the time. Several others were injured and are currently receiving treatment.


Authorities say a full investigation is underway, and President Vladimir Putin has been briefed on the incident. Security measures in major cities have been heightened following the explosion.
